Can't get DHCP working

Hi all,

I've got a woody (stable) installation with the 2.2.20 kernel on a Dell
Latitude CPi. I have a 3Com 3CXFE575B 10/100 card in the top slot.
Debian recognizes the card, and attaches it to eth0. However, I'm
seeing odd behavior when I try to use dhclient to get an IP address from
my D-Link 701 firewall (which my Windows XP box happily gets an address
from). When I do a 'tail -f /var/log/syslog' (or daemon.log, for that
matter), I see the following (all from dhclient-2.2.x):
DHCPDISCOVER on eth0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 5
DHCPOFFER from 192.168.1.254 (note: this IS the DI-701)
DHCPREQUEST on eth0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67
DHCPNAK from 192.168.1.254
DHCPNAK with no active lease

...then it repeats the request and the NAK. I found the RFC for DHCP,
and a diagram of the process
(http://www.freesoft.org/CIE/RFC/2131/29.htm), which indicates that the
client is waiting for a DHCPACK signal before it will bind to an offered
address. What I don't understand is why it's never receiving one.
Anyone have a clue? Should I post this to another list?

TIA!
-Tom
