You might want to check: http://www.linux-laptop.net/ although your pc is not 
listed there. Dunno what kind of card you have, you might need to upgrade to 
xfree4.2.x, for instance if you have an ati radeon. 

If it works you might be able to take one of the more modern XFree86-config 
files from http://www.linux-laptop.net/ and modify it a bit.
