Access methods for pppd with netenv ?
Hello,
A friend of mine is going to live 'mobil' in spain, and needs to use her
laptop for e-mail and internet anyway.
I wonder how she could manage dialing to some ISP's under various technical
conditions. For example, on analog lines you'll sometimes have to predial a
'0' if connected to a 'home knode' or any kind of local net. On the other
hand, there may be digital lines like ISDN in Germany ( and I don't know
about conditions in Espana ). Consider that she's totally unexperienced with
computers at all. I'll preconfigure some pppd/chat - peers, but this won't
be enough. Afaik it's not designed for pppd-issues - but could I perhaps
configure netenv to manage different access-methods at boot-time, providing
at least a menu ? However, optimal thing would be a kind of autodetection.
