Wireless Rules My Earth [ I can't fix it ]

hi,

i am having weird+boring problems installing my Enterasys Roamabout DS wireless card. when I have my 2.4.18 kernel pcmcia-core successfully installed i cannot install the ds.o module. when i modonf the module it simply fails with a non verbose argument. insmod is the same. the [rpm'd] manufacturer drivers fails compile against the cardbus.

after all this i decided to go the pcmcia-cs way, so i downloaded the latest package and configured. this went fine, but then 'make all' fails on the cardbus with:

fndklsanflk:/home/delire/libs/pcmcia-cs-3.1.3# make all
set -e ; for d in modules clients cardmgr flash debug-tools man etc ; do make -C $d ; done

i have tried building it against the latest 2.4.18 kernel sources also, but with the same results. any ideas? anyone else out there that has the Roamabaout 80211 DS working?
of course plugs and plays under windows, so i know the card is fine.
