tpctl on a thinkpad

Hello every body,

I have a pb with the installation of thinkpad-base and tpctl on my IBM T23 under woody
(kernel 2.14.18)

Here is what I get after installing the two above packages through an apt-get install command.

marsiq:/dev# ls -l th*
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root            5 avr 24 20:01 thinkpad -> smapi
marsiq:/dev# ls -l | grep smapi
crw-rw----    1 root     root      10, 170 avr 24 20:01 smapi
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root            5 avr 24 20:01 thinkpad -> smapi
marsiq:/dev# tpctl --H
tpctl: System error message is: No such device
tpctl: Can't open device file /dev/thinkpad with flags O_RDWR. Exiting.

Any idea?
