   Does it suspend/hibernate in Windows? Yours is a 'K' version,
i.e. a win2000 one. Maybe they did not set up hibernate/suspend? Seems 
a bit strange.
   How did you install Linux without touching the Win partition? It
seems to me that you had to, at a minimum, resize it. On mine I
repartitioned and reinstalled windows, but I don't remember doing
something specific to setup suspend/hibernate on windows.
