very slow sound from my es1888 soundchip

hi list-mambers ;-)
i got a ess 1888 chip here and it's working but when i use mpg123 or
mp3blaster it's very slow - the voice of girls in a song sound very deep ;P
and it's ___very___ slow you can hear the song but it's twice as long as
usual ;P
if some1 got a idea please let me know
i use sb.o with dma=1 io=0x220 irq=5
and midi isn't working either ;P but that's the next problem *hehe*
so tnx in advice ;-)
