cercando "incident" su babelfish si trova:

ed effettivamente leggendo anche il paragrafo che hai indicato

a me verrebbe piu' spontaneo tradurlo come "risposta al contrattempo" (anche se detto cosi' fa schifo),
ma probabilmente e' una mia interpretazione personale dovuta alla mia
abituale concezione di "incidente", che ne dici?.
