[debian-knoppix] Dynamic MMap ran out of room.

I get the following message when I was trying to apt-get update.

E: Dynamic MMap ran out of room
E: Error occured while processing gtk-engines-cleanice2 (NewVersion1)
E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/dpkg/status
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.

How can I fix it??
