[debian-knoppix] GPL: customized Knoppix possible?
Hi all,
This friday I will finish the diploma work I write with a friend of
mine at our university. We wrote an application which is released under
the GPL and available as debian-package. So far so good, the problem is
that our professors are not really what I would call linux gurus and
because of this we thought it would be nice to have our own customized
version of Knoppix. That means we simply would like to have Knoppix
with our application on it so the professor can simply boot it and play
with the application.
We downloaded the latest ISO File and mounted it to see the content of
it. Actually we try to mount it with /dev/cloop device and to do a
chroot into the mounted KNOPPIX. After that we want to install our
application with dpkg -i and after that I would like to compress that
again.
Does that work like this or should that be done different?
For those of you who are interested in the application itself, the
homepage is available at http://www.cybrain.org, however documentation
won't be done till friday :-))
Because we are quite late with this idea all fast hacks are welcome :-)
thanks for your work with Knoppix
cu
