I should have updated the scsi modules in miniroot.gz as well.
I have never worked with initrd before, and it took me some time to
realize that the scsi modules are loaded from the initrd. So the
behavior I have been experienced was caused by using 2.4.19 scsi
modules with a 2.4.20 kernel. Amazing that this worked in this way
instead of crashing immediately.
