Unfourtunally it does add some size to the kernel. I can see it is a very
tight fit! To get my boot floppy to fit, I had to remove scsi modules, not a
very good solution for knoppix... I also tried isolinux, which has no size
limitations, and it works fine, but then you can't boot with a boot floppy.
I think one solution is to make a scsi boot.img and a non-scsi boot.img.. and
use isolinux for the cd ( which has no size limitations ). I think it would
be pushing it to have all hardware supported in one 1.44 boot.img into the
future, esp as more hardware is being added all the time, and I would think
2.6 would be even bigger.

On non-framebuffer cards you'd have to add "nolpp" or something to the boot
prompt ( which will equate to "vga=normal" in syslinux.cfg ).

I will keep working on it and see how it goes.

Best Regards
