Dear Maintainer,
This a Raspberry Pie 5 running bookworm for over 1 year. I have the full syslog (journal) , but points of interest:
1: The system ran from Jan 2024 to Jan 2025 without errors
2: The system started reporting errors on Jan 28 2025
3: I applied the "workaround" Jan 31 2025 ( nvme_core.default_ps_max_latency_us=0 pcie_aspm=off pcie_port_pm=off )
4: Workaround "fixed" the problem, but still showed "nvme nvme0: I/O 329 (I/O Cmd) QID 3 timeout, aborting"
5: A subsequent POWER CYCLE (not just reboot) removed the timeouts
6: The system now runs at 50-60C , vs 20C beforehand
I appreciate it is likely the root cause is "non-compliant" hardware, I'm adding this log to the evidence because:
i: The long period it ran without errors (A kernel change over that time?)
ii: The behavior WRT POWER CYCLE vs just boot, points at some NVMe activity while not running kernel but still powered.
HARDWARE:
NVMe => "fanxiang S501Q" (2TB Gen3) , case+NVMe Hat ==> "Argon NEO 5"
