kernel 3.16.7-ckt2-1 : wrong keyboard layout at boot

Hi,

I'm using a ThinkPad T440s with belgian azerty built-in keyboard.
I have a luks encrypted file system. At boot, the prompt asks me for my
password to decrypt the file system.

With kernel 3.16.3-2 (2014-09-20), the prompt was expecting me to type
my password on my azerty keyboard, the azerty way. (which is what I
expect too)

Since my system was upgraded to kernel 3.16.7-ckt2-1 (2014-12-08), the
prompt is expecting me to type my password in a qwerty way.

Is there anything I can do to enable azerty mode with kernel 3.16.7-ckt2-1?

I'm no expert at all so I don't know if it's related, but my
/etc/initramfs-tools/initramfs.conf config for KEYMAP is 'n'.
I tried to change it to 'y' and then run :
update-initramfs -u

but got this message :
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-3.16.0-4-amd64
Warning: error while trying to store keymap file - ignoring request to
install /etc/boottime.kmap.gz

I'm not sure if it's related, but I found someone having an issue with
similar symptoms :
https://lists.debian.org/debian-kernel/2014/06/msg00213.html

Is this a config error on my system?
Should I file a bug?
Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Thomas.
