Many thanks for the confirmation. Sorry that I didn't spot earlier that
the patch had been merged in mainline in the meanwhile:

I only noticed today because of a notification about the addition to the
staging queue of "3.13.y.z extended stable".

The above-mentioned commit is part of v3.18-rc3.
