Hello,

After upgrading to linux-image-3.5 the X server freezes after some time.
Most of the time this happens when to switch from an xterm to another
desktop, xterm still works (commands can still be executed), terminal
output can still be seen, but the rest of the screen is not updated
anymore, not even on switch to another virtual desktop.
Switching to another VT works and kernel console (kms) works.

Recovery is only really possible with a reboot.

Kernel linux-image-3.2.0-2-amd64 worked without any problems, uptime >40
days (same x-server as for 3.5)

Kernel error message:
[drm:i915_hangcheck_hung] *ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed... GPU hung

X org error message:
Some message about possible corrupted screen state.

Seems a common problem with 3.5 ubuntu has identical bugreports.
