Bug#647741 still occurs in the linux-image-3.2.0-2-amd64 kernel
version 3.2.15-1: I was typing in an xterm, and the characters
appeared only after a few seconds. A few minutes earlier, the
windows (Emacs and Iceweasel) weren't redisplayed for several
seconds after switching the desktop.
During the freeze, the disk activity becomes high, and so does
the load average (due to disk activity, I suppose).
