Package: linux-2.6 Version: 2.6.39-2 Severity: important Hi! Sorry if it's known (didn't find a similar bug in the BTS), but I am experiencing a kernel problem with the GPU. The first time I was running Debian's 2.6.38-5 (dmesg-2.6.38.txt.gz). Second time, with a new kernel, and had the same issue (dmesg-2.6.39.txt.gz). It seems to be somehow reproducible when using LibreOffice and Chromium. What else can I do to help with this, please? Thank you very much! Best regards, Nelson -- Package-specific info: ** Version: Linux version 2.6.39-2-amd64 (Debian 2.6.39-2) (ben@decadent.org.uk) (gcc version 4.4.6 (Debian 4.4.6-3) ) #1 SMP Wed Jun 8 11:01:04 UTC 2011 ** Command line: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.39-2-amd64 root=UUID=c73f4307-2dce-4e31-939c-e6cb20668551 ro quiet ** Tainted: O (4096) * Out-of-tree module has been loaded. ** Kernel log: [ 6.379858] scsi5 : pata_atiixp [ 6.380254] ata5: PATA max UDMA/100 cmd 0x1f0 ctl 0x3f6 bmdma 0xf900 irq 14 [ 6.380257] ata6: PATA max UDMA/100 cmd 0x170 ctl 0x376 bmdma 0xf908 irq 15 [ 6.380698] EDAC amd64: DRAM ECC disabled. Hi! I was able to reproduce the crash only when using both Chromium and LibreOffice at the same time (it wasn't reproducible not even when playing heavier 3D games) thus I thought that indeed it was some kind of problem with the X stack or the Kernel. But then it started to crash more frequently (even with Kernel versions from stable and experimental). It happens that the problem was a failing fan of the graphics card. I am sorry that I wasn't able to spot before that it was a physical problem with the card. Thank you very much! Best regards, Nelson
