I have just observed a correct boot (keyboard working), but with the "atkbd.c Spurious ACK ... " present in /var/log/messages. So this is much less clear than I thought. I have a "good" and "bad" versions log /var/log/messages & am now wondering on how to best compare them. I need to look into a diff or a script that can ignore date and time differences, for a start.
