This bug has apparently been known to the ALSA project for nearly 3 years, but no-one is working on it: https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa-bug/view.php?id=959 (note, the SSL certificate for this site has expired; you will need to accept it temporarily) You can try adding your information there in case this get some attention from ALSA developers.
