The cxusb driver needs one of several different 'front-end' drivers for different devices, including lgs8gl5 (which apprently doesn't support all LGS8GL5 variants!) and lgs8gxx. However, it does not select lgs8gxx, and front-end drivers will not built unless another driver selects them (or CONFIG_DVB_FE_CUSTOMISE is set, which it isn't). I have just applied a fix for this, so lgs8gxx will be included in future. Ben. -- Ben Hutchings friends: People who know you well, but like you anyway.
