To whom it may help in the mean time, here's my version of snd-hda-intel.ko, compiled from the Debian 2.6.26-9 source with the above patch included. To use if you do dare: 1. make a back-up copy of /lib/modules/2.6.26-1-686/kernel/sound/pci/hda/snd-hda-intel.ko 2. replace it with the file attached here (you have to bunzip2 it, of course). 2bis: the md5sum of this file, uncompressed, is fae99a71b2d72dbcaeaa35c3df36a512. 3. check for a line starting with "options snd-hda-intel" in the files from /etc/modprobe.d. If necessary, create one; mine reads options snd-hda-intel model=acer-aspire 4. rmmod snd-hda-intel and modprobe it back, or reboot. -- Cyrille
