Hello, I note the same problem on an HP Compact nc6320 laptop. The system eventually freezes, however, the time it freezes varies. Sometimes it happens during bootup, sometimes well after login. There are no error masages. Booting with kernel parameters "noapic" or "acpi=off" does not help. Removing the package "klaptop" doesn't work either.
