Bug#439321: linux-image-2.6.22-1-amd64: shutting down does not power off the machine

Hello kernel developers,

After upgrading from 2.6.18-3 the shutting down sequence doesn't power off
the machine anymore. It does all what it's supposed to do until halting, but 
the box remains powered on.
