The bug is unfixed since 75 days, with a patch since almost two month, you
rejected an in-person proposal to fix it now-and-there in erkelenz, the
upstream is MIA, and you have no idea about what is happening to him, you
claimed you don't understand the package enough to apply even such a trivial
patch without the consent of upstream, all this together make me believe that
yaird is not suitable for inclusion in etch until something changes in its
maintainership, either you reconsidering how you handle it, or someone else
helping you out, or even someone else taking over.

This is really not related to this bus alone, i even downgraded it, as you
may remember, but i don't believe that the kernel team would be confortable
with depending on such a poorly maintained package for a stable release,
especially considering the huge amount of work still needed in this area for
both yaird and initramfs-tools. At least i am not confortable with it. This
pains me, since i prefer yaird and was a vocal advocate of it, but we have
also to face realities. We heard almost nothing of you during most of the
month of january, and you refused my patches and prosal to help sorting it out
in erkelenz, so what else can you say ?

Friendly,

Sven Luther
