Bug#339719: with new udev in etch kernel hangs during boot time when loading usb in a sis motherboard
Package: kernel
Severity: normal
-- System Information:
Debian Release: testing/unstable
APT prefers testing
APT policy: (500, 'testing')
Architecture: i386 (i686)
Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash
Kernel: Linux 2.6.12-1-686
Locale: LANG=it_IT@euro, LC_CTYPE=it_IT@euro (charmap=ISO-8859-15)
on a sis chipset computer, the new udev hangs during boot time giving
errors regarding usb . No way to boot and with acpi=off option on I get
to boot but both usb devices and ps3 port are unusable. I can command
only via a ps2 keyboard. I contacted udev team but they say it's a
driver-kernel problem. The only way to use computer is deinstall the new
udev anfd use old hotplug. everything goes ok then. I use etch but I
tried even the new kernel in sid.same results but now even hotplug gives
problems.
