Bug#282724: please include megaraid2 module

nope. That's the driver for the earlier megaraid controllers. Loading it
doesn't work on new hardware like the PERC 4.

I just did a little more poking around and confirmed that megaraid2 isn't
in the 2.6 master source tree yet.

Check out this link:
http://lists.us.dell.com/pipermail/linux-poweredge/2004-October/022354.html

applying the referenced patch to a fresh 2.6.8 tarball got this menu
item added to the SCSI "low level drivers" section of make menuconfig

<SNIP>
[ ] LSI Logic New Generation RAID Device Drivers (NEW)
</SNIP>

there is also this tarball:
ftp://ftp.lsil.com/pub/linux-megaraid/drivers/version-2.20.3.1/megaraid2.20.3.1.tgz
but it looks like it needs to be somehow integrated into a linux 2.6
source tree.

That's not a standalone makefile in there.

I know that licensing issues make incorporating code like this into
your packages tricky at times, but it would make me and a lot of other
debian fans who are stuck w/ dell hardware really happy if you could pull
it off.

Best regards,
Mike Przybylski
