I'm get the behaviour described when trying to install Debian on a Dell machine with the pre-rc2 Debian Installer. At boot it hangs at the message
Real Time Clock Driver v1.1.2and Ctrl-C does not seem to shift it. This machine is a Dell Optiplex which I am installing for a friend.
Does anyone want more information about this?I'll try with the acpi=off option, which I presume is a option I pass to the kernel at boot.
Faheem.
