Bug#281739: kernel-image-2.6.9-1-686: dangling source symlink in /lib/modules/`uname -r`
Package: kernel-image-2.6.9-1-686
Version: 2.6.9-2
Severity: minor
*** Please type your report below this line ***
In both 2.6.9-1-686 and 2.6.8-1-686, there is a dangling symlink which
seems to point to a temporary source directory from the build process:
$ ls -l /lib/modules/*/source # whitespace added for clarity
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 88 2004-11-15 16:27
/lib/modules/2.6.8-1-686/source ->
/home/dilinger/src/kernel/kernel-image/2.6.8-5/kernel-image-2.6.8-i386-2.6.8/install-686
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 95 2004-11-17 09:46
/lib/modules/2.6.9-1-686/source ->
/tmp/debian-kernel-test/kernel-image-2.6.9-i386-2.6.9/kernel-image-2.6.9-i386-2.6.9/install-686
It doesn't pose a problem for me, but it might trip up others who need
to build out-of-tree kernel modules. The source symlink should probably
belong to the corresponding kernel-source package.
