There's a driver (still somewhat decoupled from upstream development,
I'm afraid) at
http://www.3ware.com/download/Escalade9000Series/9.0.2/3w-9xxx2.6.tgz
which claims to be version 2.26.00.011fw
The Changelogs at www.kernel.org are not very informative, but looking
at the source I can see that
2.6.9 still contains 2.26.00.001
2.6.10rc2 patch contains nothing about 3w-9xxx (although 3w-xxxx patches
are there)

I'm afraid that Escalade9000s are not widespread enough, probably this
means I have to roll my own kernel(s) again :-(((
