I am afraid that I don't quite understand what you are trying to say.
My approach would be to take a look whether the events that are supposed
to trigger the popup are generated in the first place and do reach the
software component that is supposed to show the popup. Since I neither
know who generates those events nor how they are transported nor who
shows the popup (kded?), I need help here.
