Falkon URL Display When Using Bookmarks

I've noticed that when I use bookmarks in Falkon, the URL display will hang on 
to the previous URL and highlight it. If you hit the escape key, the URL 
displayed will switch to the URL of the loaded page, and un-highlight that 
URL. This is with KDE on Debian Trixie under X11:

Has anyone noticed this behaviour? It seems like a curious default.
