I started fooling with it and went to my old habits at the command line. The 
RAID was created using mdadm, then I used lvm2 to carve up the space. I did go 
back and look at my work using the Partition Manager. It easily noticed the 
RAID, volume group, and logical volumes. Pretty nice.
