In general you can install the package debian-security-support and then
run the command check-support-status to get a report on limitations of
security support for certain installed packages. I am not sure how
complete this list is… but I found this to be helpful to have an idea
about the security status of some applications. And the package itself is
maintained by the security team. You need to check their dependencies
manually sometimes, as the information the check program delivers often
enough is related to libraries.
It also hooks into apt and notifies you automatically for future updates
and package installations.
In addition there are a host of other nice tools like debsecan, apticron
and needrestart. Just to inform you about some of the nice stuff we have
in Debian :)
