Thank you for your advice. I reverted the packages to the ones
available in sid. Now waiting for okular to upgrade.... I really miss
it when working with these PDF files

Thank you

The strange thing is that here in "sid" okular works correctly.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

root@Sid:/tmp# dpkg -l| grep okular
ii  libokular5core9                               4:20.04.2-1                     amd64        libraries for the Okular document viewer
ii  okular                                        4:20.04.2-1                     amd64        universal document viewer

root@Sid:/tmp# dpkg -l| grep poppler
ii  libpoppler-cpp0v5:amd64                       0.71.0-6                        amd64        PDF rendering library (CPP shared library)
ii  libpoppler-glib8:amd64                        0.71.0-6                        amd64        PDF rendering library (GLib-based shared library)
ii  libpoppler-qt5-1:amd64                        0.71.0-6                        amd64        PDF rendering library (Qt 5 based shared library)
ii  libpoppler82:amd64                            0.71.0-6                        amd64        PDF rendering library
ii  poppler-data                                  0.4.9-2                         all          encoding data for the poppler PDF rendering library
ii  poppler-utils                                 0.71.0-6                        amd64        PDF utilities (based on Poppler)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

However I can reproduce the error if I run okular from a homedir without .mozilla (where it seems to look for some certs)

root@Sid:/tmp# pdfsig BOE-A-2018-5704.pdf
