I just add that my version of Okular is 1.4, and according to the last comment 
of the bug, it might be fixed in Okular 1.5, from Aug 2018 (app. 18.08).

So that would mean that we could have both background color, for eye care, and 
trim margin (for eye care too actually): that in Okular 1.5.
