Meanwhile, I removed ~/.local/share/baloo and hand-edited ~/.config/baloofilerc (systemsettings seems to be buggy and doesn't save my changes). Basically I added some exceptions and set first run=true. Then I switched 'Enable File Search' in systemsettings off and on again. After that, i see baloo_file and /usr/bin/baloo_file_extractor working... since a few hours now (I let it run the night and we'll see tomorrow). What meanwhile changed in the Kmail Folder Properties/Maintenance: "Indexing" shows a hook at "Enable Full Text Indexing" and says "Indexed 1 item of this collection". Other folder already show some more indexed items... but any progress here is extremely slow. Maybe because I have ten thousands of emails, many have huge (binary) attachments. Thanks for your help and I report on any progress. Regards, Tim
