Hey, the indexing/searching in kmail was seperated code in baloo forever, but lived for historical resons (nepomuk) in the same repo. With the move to kf5 the baloo repo was split to the file indexer (baloo-kf5) and akonadi-search. For kdepim based on kf5 that means, it it totaly uninteressing what baloo version you have installed, you need akonadi-search to be installed. If kdepim kf5 version depends on baloo4, this is a bug.
