Hi,

I always update Wheezy. KDE is not stable:

Is it possible it's related to akonadi server? I remember a couple months ago, kmail not starting at all and getting DrKonki crashes (related to kdepim?) right after logging in and it was because I had to manually configure the sqlite backend [0]. This is because when you log into KDE for the first time as a new user, it gives you the choice of Postgresql or Mysql for Akonadi but if you have the akonadi-backend-sqlite installed instead of either of those, it seems you have to configure it manually. Although it might be fixed now. You have to be more specific about your DrKonki crashes as I don't get them anymore.

Now that I think about it, I don't think it was Akonadi crashing.. It was Akonadi throwing an unknown exit code (255)[1] and then that was causing apps that depended on Akonadi to crash and fail to start. All because my akonadi configuration was set to mysql by the KDE setup wizard when I had only the akonadi-backend-sqlite package installed. The KDE Setup Wizard for Akonadi, last time I checked, does not have a selection for sqlite. So that's how the misconfiguration happened after the user's first login.

Further, in order to get all this to happen at all, you need to block mysql from installing by default and then the user needs to select the wrong SQL backend during their first KDE login. After that, as I recall, you start getting kdepim crashes along with apps like kmail refusing to start, beginning at your 2nd login. Unless it's been fixed already.

2. Desktop Cube (CTRL-F11) does not work; other effects work.
Yes, doesn't work here either on Gallium:r300g / ATI Mobility X700. Not an important bug though.

3. Logging out as user 1, logging in as user 2: I do not get
to see the users´ desktop, the user splash screen remains on the screen

File a bug report.
