It doesn't seem a real problem, I hope you can do better than this. :)
Since I can't find any option for the cube caps, I think you must go here:
/usr/share/kde4/apps/kwin/cubecap.png
and replace the cubecap.png image with one of your choice, of course with the 
very same name and extension. Probably it's possible only to have just one image 
for both upper and lower faces.
