Hi,
I have the similar error after upgrade to Squeeze before 2-3 days. I 
think it have something with xorg.conf.
When I put "vesa" everything was alright:
Section "Device"
        Identifier      "Configured Video Device"
        Driver          "vesa"
EndSection
