在我这边，没有任何问题，我开着scim，也能用kaffeine.
我的配置：Debian/Etch + 自己编译的最新版本scim, scim-qtimm, scim-tables(我用五笔，就没必要装scim-pinyin了，像你用scim-pinyin，就没必要装scim-tables-zh)
你的版本是sid么？可能与sid有关。如果追求稳定的话，用etch吧。我从sid返回etch了，debian官方对kde支持不太好。
如果要用音频视频的话，建议使用mplayer。这个表现更好一些。因为可以用windows下的real的解码器。
我没有装im-switch，我直接用脚本启动的scim.
