Re: Printer auto-detection and scanning no longer works

Yesterday I tried to use my HP PSC scanner, directly USB connected. It
was very unstable. I had to rebuild the printer in CUPS twice, and
the HP toolbox kept reporting (in bright red text in the console
where I started the toolbox)
"error: Unable to communicate with device:
warning: Device not found"
I think something in CUPS has gone "unstable". How appropriate. :^)
