Someone noticed problems with dropping multiple selections...I've noticed (with the aid of slow cpus, 50 and 133MHz) that if you drop before the outline of the slecected stuff is redrawn after the drag, the stuff gets deselected in the source and the move/copy/link menu doesn't popup.
Solution: slow down; select, drag, pause, drop. - Bruce
