Where can I set $PATH when login from kdm

Hi,Everyone.

When I use kdm to login into kde,I cannot play games by clicking K-menu.
I execute 'echo $PATH > ~/foobar',and this is the content of ~/foobar:

/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/usr/local/bin

any help
