ethereal and tcpdump might be a little over kill. There is a utility that I
really like called dsniff. It is a very cool app.
From the dsniff man page:
dsniff is a password sniffer which handles FTP, Telnet, SMTP, HTTP,
POP, poppass, NNTP, IMAP, SNMP, LDAP, Rlogin, RIP, OSPF, PPTP MS-CHAP,
