If you use maildir for mail folders you save three out of four steps ;)
Also what I am missing:
When someone sends an encrypted mail, there is no way to save it unencrypted. 
That means if the private key gets lost somehow, all encrypted mails are 
lost, too (don't know if that's also true with revoked keys).
