I confirmed it was a "former installation" issue. I did a

$ grep -r libkghost ~/.kde

and found a couple places where "libkghostview" could be updated to
be "libkghostviewpart".

I don't think my system represents a "clean upgrade" from 3.0 or 2.x to
3.1, as people should be doing with the official release. So, it's not
clear to whether this issue would impact someone who was following
official upgrade instructions.  Perhaps someone else who does a clean
upgrade can provide feedback.
