For KDE (2, 3.0n) try Control Center;   System; Login Manager; Sessions;
and add your desired Window Managers. 

KDE 3.1 Beta 2 Control Center might be broken and the sessions  might 
not stick.  If so in  "/etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc" modify the "SessionTypes=" 
line.
