Re: Question about metapackages
because not all dpkg frontends use suggests, apt-get for example
if the metapackages didn't use depends, then they would be next to useless
in your case, just install the metapackage, then remove kppp and kdenetwork

Hi all,
Can anybody please tell me why the metapages (i.e. kdenetwork) do _depend_
on
the several packages?
Wouldn't it be better if they're just recommended or suggested?
My example: I would like to install kdenetwork, but I don't need kppp.
Right
now, it depends on it, so I either have to force dpkg to ignore the
dependencies or to remove kdenetwork (just the metapackage).
Any idea?
Best regards
Michael
